As part of its ongoing partnership with Aramco, Nesma United Industries (NUI) has launched three strategic projects through its Technical Systems Division, aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s security infrastructure.

The first phase involves a 15–36 month implementation of integrated security systems across key operational sites in the western,
northern and southern regions, covering surveillance, detection, vehicle recognition, fencing, lighting and specialized security buildings.

These projects reinforce NUI’s role in developing advanced, reliable and efficient security infrastructure that safeguards critical facilities and ensures seamless operations.

Nesma Achieves Financial Close for the Jubail–Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline Project

Nesma, in partnership with Aljomaih Energy & Water Company and Buhur for Investment Company, has achieved financial close for the Jubail–Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline Project.

One of Saudi Arabia’s most significant water transmission projects, it will deliver desalinated water from Jubail to Al-Qassim through a 587 km pipeline with a capacity of 650,000 m³ per day. Developed under the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model, the project is scheduled to commence commercial operations in Q2 2029 and features reverse pumping capabilities to enhance efficiency and support economic growth in the Al-Qassim region.

Nesma Renewable Energy is proud to announce a new global milestone achieved in partnership with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and EtihadWE, setting a world record for the lowest cost of electricity generation from wind energy through the Al-Dawadmi Wind Project in Riyadh, with a total capacity of 1,500 MW.

The project was awarded by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (Principal Buyer) as part of the sixth round of the National Renewable Energy Program, marking a significant step in advancing the Kingdom’s renewable energy ambitions.

NIT Signs New Contracts with Saudi Electricity Company

Nesma Infrastructure and Technology (NIT) has signed a new contract with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for the 230 kV and 115 kV Interties Project in the Eastern Operating Area, Jubail. The project, valued at over SAR 340 million, is scheduled for completion in approximately 19 months.

In addition, the company secured a contract with SEC for the installation of a 33 kV switchgear room at Al-Baha CPS Substation and the re-conductoring of the existing line between Namera North s/s and Mikwah s/s in the Tihamah region, valued at over SAR 135 million, with an 18-month delivery timeline.

Another contract covers the construction of Jubail Community (7AB) 230/115 kV BSP and integration of 230 kV transmission lines in Jubail. Valued at over SAR 445 million, this project includes Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing & Commissioning and Energization on a lump sum turnkey basis, with a 20-month timeline.

Nesma Contributes to Establishing New Low-Cost Airline

Nesma Group has joined a strategic consortium with Air Arabia and KUN Holding, which has won the General Authority of Civil Aviation’s (GACA) competition to establish and operate a new national low-cost airline based at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. The initiative aims to strengthen domestic and international air connectivity for the Eastern Province and support the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

The new airline is expected to serve 24 domestic and 57 international destinations, targeting around 10 million passengers annually from Dammam and the Eastern Province. It will create over 2,400 direct jobs in the aviation sector and contribute to tourism development and local economic growth in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Nesma Infrastructure & Technology (NIT) recently participated in the International Forum on Power System Transformation in Beijing, hosted by the State Grid Corporation of China. The event focused on grid modernization, renewable integration, and digital innovation, reaffirming NIT's role in supporting global energy transitions.



In addition, NIT engaged with China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co. (CET) to discuss enhancing grid stability, advancing smart infrastructure, and exploring collaboration aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.



NIT also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), paving the way for future collaboration in transportation, utilities, and large-scale development projects.



To further boost Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure, NIT formed a Joint Venture with Inspur Group, a leader in cloud computing and digital transformation, to deliver localized technology solutions for the Kingdom.

Nesma Infrastructure & Technology (NIT) has signed a SAR 90 million contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to upgrade power infrastructure in Makkah. The scope includes the underground interconnection of the Nawaryah substation with Makkah North BSP and the retirement of three 110 kV substations.

Led by NIT’s Operations Department, the project will enhance network reliability and support regional modernization efforts.
